For the second straight night at Harrington Raceway, a $60-plus horse took the featured harness racing event as Belinda Hughes' Badlands Style ($113.80, Tony Morgan) won the $16,000 Mares Junior Open tonight (Tuesday May 8).
The longshot sequence in the features continued Tuesday in the Mares Jr. Open as the front runners labored in deep stretch, while Badlands Style surged on the far outside in the final strides for the narrow win in a four-way photo over Rock N Load and Angelwithanattitude.
Trained by Bib Roberts, it was the third win of the year for the 5-year-old daughter of Badlands Hanover and first career triumph with Open company in just her 50th career start.
Drivers Jim Morand and George Dennis each had three winners on the program.
