As Bad As Thunder left with purpose from post seven and assumed command from early leader Wind Me Up to an opening quarter of :27.4. Driver Bret Brittingham then gave his horse a breather with a half-mile in :56.4 and three-quarter time in 1:26 before a sizzling :27.4 last quarter to prevail by two lengths. Wind Me Up held off a game Jeremys Successor for the place position.
Driver George Dennis had three winners on the card. Ross Wolfenden, Allan Davis and Vince Copeland each had driving doubles.
